Tutorial: Scrabble Word Decor

Today we have a very simple (I mean, really simple) and fun tutorial.  I have made a few of these little Scrabble pieces and love how they add a little bit to my decor.  They are also very inexpensive and quick to make.

Tools:

Glue Gun & Glue

Materials:

Scrabble Tiles
Scrabble Tile Tray

A Scrabble game can be used for a lot of different crafts and, even new, are very inexpensive.  I recommend checking for one at a local thrift store or garage sale though, since you don’t need to worry about having a complete game since you are just going to disassemble it to use it’s parts for crafting.

Instructions:

Heat up your glue gun and pick the word you want to use (see below for ideas.) Apply a small amount of glue on the back of the first letter and press onto the tray.

To place the letter, position all your letters on the tray at once and center.  Glue your first letter in place and then the rest of the letters beside it.

That’s it!  Quick and easy.

I like 7-letter words since that is the amount you are given in a Scrabble game.  You could also use your last name, children’s names, etc. They don’t have to be 7 letters.  Some fun 7-letter words to use are:

Achieve
Athlete
Balance
Believe
Blessed
Breathe
Capture
Cherish
Courage
Delight
Embrace
Explore
Harmony
Honesty
Imagine
Inspire
Journey
Miracle
Moments
Promise
Purpose
Reflect
Sparkle
Welcome

What word would you use?  I would love to hear more ideas!
